Winter Classes 2026

Registration is open!

We are excited to offer several phonics classes ideal for Pre-K, 5/6 program, or transitional kindergarten students.  We will utilize phonics instruction, emphasizing visual, auditory and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles as a way to lay a solid foundation for early readers.  Our time together will be spent playing games and other activities centered on a review of letter recognition and letter sounds, rhyming words, and an introduction to basic CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) word families. (bat, cat, sat, etc.) In the winter class, we will practice segmenting beginning, middle, and ending sounds in order to blend the sounds to read CVC words.  The winter class is a completely new curriculum from the fall class.  All activities and games are new and are appropriate for children who are in the second half of their Pre-K or 5/6 program school year.

You may sign up for both Winter and Spring sessions or just one session. Spring sessions take place on the same days and times as the winter and are a continuation of our winter session with NEW games and activities that build on the skills we have learned. WINTER CLASSES OFFERED:

*MONDAYS* at Second Ponce Community Wellness Center
10 Classes | January 12th-April 13th
No Class on January 19 (MLK day), February 16 (Winter Break), March 2nd (Spring Break 1) and April 6th (Spring Break 2)
1:15-2:15 pm | Pre-K and 5/6 Program | $450
*Teachers are Amanda Wilson and Katie Rockey
*Students at CTK Preschool@2P-RR teachers will pick the children up in carpool and walk them to the RR class at the CWC. RR teachers are unable to walk students to an extra-curricular activity following their RR class.

*TUESDAY MORNINGS* at Trinity Presbyterian Preschool

No Class on February 17 (Winter Break), March 3rd (Spring Break 1) and April 7th (Spring Break 2)

*RR teachers will walk students to their TPP or TELC class after Reading Rangers.  The class is open also to students at other preschools, but those students (besides TPP and TELC) will have to arrange transportation to preschool after class.)

*TUESDAYS* at Northside United Methodist Church (Open to NMP students only)

No Class on February 17 (Winter Break), March 3rd (Spring Break 1) and April 7th (Spring Break 2)
12:25-1:25 pm | Pre-K | $495 (RR teachers will pick students up from class.)
1:30-2:30 pm | Pre-K and Lions | $495
*Teachers are Kristen DiCristina and Amanda Wilson *Pre-K students who sign up for the 1:30 class must also sign up for Stay and Play (12:25-1:25) on the NMP website. At 1:30, RR teachers will pick students up from Stay and Play or the Lions class and take them to RR. RR teachers are unable to pick students up from a Sports and Rec offering or walk students to a Sports and Rec offering after class. If a child signs up to go to a Sports and Rec class after RR class, please arrange for a coach to pick up the child and let the RR teachers know the plan.


*WEDNESDAYS* at Second Ponce Community Wellness Center

1:00-2:00 pm | Pre-K and 5/6 Program | $495
2:15-3:15 pm | Pre-K and 5/6 Program | $495
*Teachers are Kristen DiCristina and Amanda Wilson *Students at CTK@2P- RR teachers will pick the children up in 1:00 carpool and walk them to the RR class at the CWC. If your child is attending Soccer after class, a parent will need to arrange for the soccer coach to pick the children up and let RR teachers know the plan.  If your child is attending the 2:15 class and coming from CTK@2P, a parent will need to arrange for a teacher to bring the child to class at the CWC.

Winter Refund Policy
Prior to December 1, 2025, a full refund (minus processing fees) will be returned to you.
After December 1, 2025, a full refund (minus processing fees) will ONLY be issued if your spot can be filled by another student.
